Chasing the 4 of Clubs

Support the Clay County Fair with the Chasing the 4 of Clubs Fundraiser. It’s a progressive 50/50 drawing chasing the 4 of Clubs. Tickets are sold at the Clay County Fair office daily and at select locations on Wednesdays. Two winners will be drawn each Wednesday at approximately 7:45 pm.  Two weekly winners will receive a $50 gift certificate to the host location and have a chance of drawing the 4 of Clubs at the Grand Finale and winning half of the total event pot. Early bird prizes will be drawn each Friday of the weeks leading up to the grand prize drawing, being held on on August 21. Tickets must be purchased by 11:59pm on Thursday to be eligible for early bird prize drawings on Friday. Names will be re-entered after winning an early bird prize, meaning the earlier you enter, the more chances you have to win.

Then join the Boys & Girls Club at their family-friendly event on August 21 and enjoy a free meal, yard games, bouncy houses, present-to-win prizes, and more. You do not need to be present to win the runner-up or Grand Prize.

July Bragging Rights

Bragging Rights On Thursday Nights is back on July 25th! Support the community and non profits with your love of cars! Bring your classic car, motorcycle, or anything you have! Connecting Cultures will be serving hot dogs from around the world for a free will donation. Bring your lawn chairs, come out for food, friends, music wile supporting the community! Bragging Rights is located behind Missouri River Associates, 124 Walnut St. in Yankton.

Crofton’s Dam Race

Runners, bikers and kayakers have discovered a new kind of race along the shores of Lewis & Clark Lake. It’s Crofton’s Dam Race on Saturday, July 27th. Choose your adventure between three events: a sprint triathlon with kayaking instead of swimming, a half marathon or 12-mile bike race. New this year is an e-bike option. Participants must be at least 14 years old. Join in the fun afterwards at Crofton’s Haymarket for awards & BBQ celebration.

SD Chislic Festival

It’s the 6th annual South Dakota Chislic Festival on Saturday, July 27th in Freeman. Enjoy a ‘Chislic Day’ filled with food, beverages and entertainment for all ages. Rock ‘N’ Rumble

Head to the Meridian District in Yankton for the 9th annual Rock-n-Rumble Motorcycle Rally on Saturday, July 27th. Events kick off with the poker run registration at Mojo’s at 10am with kickstands up at 11am. The Chopper Johnson Memorial Bike Parade is at 3:30 with parade line up at 3pm at 3rd & Douglas. Loudest pipes contest starts at 4:15 and bike show runs until 7pm. Enjoy live music starting at 5pm with Seriously Shirly and Mean Streak starts at 8pm. Rock ‘N’ Rumble 2024 charity organization is Bridging Yankton. Half of the money raised through the sponsorships will go to the charity. 

Kids Summer Series

Join the Yankton Community Library and the Yankton Parks & Recreation Department for the final Kids Summer Series Event on Monday, July 29th. Real Reptiles will have a show at the Riverside Park amphitheatre at 5:30pm. Enjoy twice the foam fun with 2 foam canons filling up the park from 6:30-7:30pm. Plus, enjoy music, games, & food! This event is free & open to the public.

Plainview Fireman’s Dance

Join the Plainview Fire & Rescue Department for the 120th Annual Fireman’s Dance on Friday, August 2nd. SwitchBak! This year, the dance will be held outside the firehall from 8:00 PM- midnight featuring SwitchBak! Admission to the dance is $10. In addition to the dance, there will be a freewill offering meal of pulled pork sandwiches, chips and bars starting at 5:30pm until gone. You do not need to attend to the dance to come eat. Harvest Festival Fundraiser

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Dante, SD is holding the annual Harvest Festival fundraiser on Sunday, August 11. Serving will begin at 4 pm in the air-conditioned hall with 2 serving lines. The menu includes a broasted chicken meal with homemade rollicky, kolaches, and desserts. Cost is $15 for adults and $6 for kids 12 and under. Bingo, a raffle, and games for all ages will also be available.

Riverboat Days & Summer Arts Festival

It’s Southeastern South Dakota’s biggest Celebration, Yankton’s Riverboat Days and Summer Arts Festival, August 16-18th. The free party by the river includes arts festival, kids activities, and incredible food vendors! Enjoy live music on Friday, August 16th, with Elizabeth Jo & Randy Houser. Riverfront Broadcasting Scramble

Join Riverfront Broadcasting for a golf scramble on August 22nd at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton. This is a 4 person tournament with three flights and cash prizes! Shotgun start at 9am.
