Dave Grohl joined AC/DC onstage at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on October 2 for a special performance of Highway to Hell.
During the concert, AC/DC singer Brian Johnson told the crowd that Grohl had asked to join the band for the 1979 classic. The Foo Fighters frontman then walked onstage with a guitar, playing alongside Johnson, Angus Young and the rest of the group while also contributing backing vocals.
Foo Fighters had already opened the show, which was the rescheduled final date of AC/DC’s Power Up Tour. The concert was originally planned for September 25 but was postponed because of dangerous weather.
Earlier in the night, Grohl spoke about his longtime connection to AC/DC. He recalled seeing the band’s Let There Be Rock concert film when he was 11 years old and said the experience helped shape the way he approached performing.
Foo Fighters had also supported AC/DC at a September tour stop in St. Louis.
